Yin Yoga
About Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga

While yang focuses on your muscles, yin targets your deep connective tissues, like fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It is slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body.

The practice of yin yoga is based on ancient Chinese philosophies and Taoist principles, which believe there are pathways of Qi, or energy, that flow through our bodies. By stretching and deepening into poses, we open blockages and allow that energy to flow freely.

Ashtanga Vinyasa
Structured Flow

Ashtanga Vinyasa

Vinyasa is a set sequence of particular asanas linked to breath: plank pose (Phalankasana), four-limbed staff pose (Chaturanga Dandasana) or eight-limbed pose (Ashtanga Namaskar), upward-facing dog (Urdhva Mukha Svanasana), and downward-facing dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana).

The meaning comes from "nyasa", which means to place, and "vi", which means in a special way. In other words, yoga postures, or asanas, during a vinyasa yoga class are placed specially and intentionally.

Hatha Yoga
Steady and Comfortable

Hatha Yoga

In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, there is a concise definition of yogasana: "Sthiram sukham aasanam", meaning that position which is comfortable and steady.

The hatha yogis found that certain specific body positions, or asanas, open energy channels and psychic centres. They discovered that asana practice helps develop control over the mind and energy.

Yogasana becomes a tool of higher awareness, providing the stable foundation necessary for the exploration of the body, breath, mind, and higher states. For this reason, asana practice comes first in hatha yoga texts such as Hatha Yoga Pradipika.

Therapeutic Yoga
Healing and Alignment

Therapeutic Yoga

Therapeutic Yoga is a personalised and mindful approach to yoga that focuses on healing, recovery, and overall well-being. It integrates principles of anatomy, alignment, breathwork, and conscious movement to address specific physical issues, postural imbalances, and injury prevention.

As a yoga educator and posture & alignment specialist, my approach to Therapeutic Yoga emphasises precise alignment and intelligent sequencing. Each session is carefully designed to suit individual needs, helping to reduce pain, restore functional movement, and improve body awareness.

Rather than pushing the body, Therapeutic Yoga works progressively, supporting long-term health, stability, and ease in movement. This practice is ideal for those dealing with chronic pain, injuries, poor posture, or anyone seeking a safe, structured path toward strength, mobility, and balance.

Power Yoga
Strength and Stamina

Power Yoga

Power Yoga is a dynamic and physically engaging style of yoga that focuses on building strength, endurance, and flexibility through continuous, flowing movements. Rooted in traditional yoga practices, it combines breath with movement in a more intense and fitness-oriented format.

In my approach as a posture and alignment specialist, Power Yoga goes beyond just movement. It emphasises correct alignment, controlled transitions, and body awareness to maximise benefits while minimising the risk of injury.

Each session is designed to challenge the body, improve stamina, and develop core stability, while maintaining mindful breathing and focus. Power Yoga is ideal for individuals looking to build strength, increase energy levels, and experience a more active, sweat-inducing practice without compromising on alignment and safety.

Chair Yoga
Gentle Movement

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is a gentle and accessible form of yoga designed especially for older adults, beginners, and individuals with limited mobility. In this practice, a chair is used as a supportive prop to provide stability, balance, and safety while performing various asanas.

As a yoga educator and posture and alignment specialist, my Chair Yoga sessions focus on precise alignment, ensuring that every movement is safe, effective, and beneficial. The chair allows practitioners to maintain proper posture, reduce the risk of injury, and experience the true essence of each pose without strain.

Chair Yoga helps improve flexibility, joint mobility, strength, and circulation while also promoting relaxation and mental well-being. It is a holistic approach that supports not only the physical body but also enhances breath awareness and inner balance. This practice is ideal for those who seek a safe, structured, and supportive way to experience the benefits of yoga at any stage of life.
